Hi! I'm Maddie!
Born and raised in Minnesota, I grew up with the best example of love- my parents. They showed me the importance of a loving relationship where you take care of each other, listen one another, but most importantly, have fun together.
I love a good party. I can be loud, outgoing, energized, and make some bizarre jokes to get you and your people laughing. I am a very type A person, so I am super organized and on top of things most of the time. While I love to party and have the best times with my clients and my people, I also am a super sentimental and emotional person. I will mostly likely cry on your wedding day, but I will definitely go above and beyond to capture all those once-in-a-lifetime moments. I want to make sure you can look back on your day and cherish it in the form of these photos.
Besides couples, I love to photograph various portrait sessions with boudoir photos being my recent favorite. Senior sessions, family portraits, and maternity shoots are among some of the other life milestones I love to document. Other than photography, I study architecture at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities and will graduate spring of 2023. I also love to go to country concerts, travel (basically anywhere), and spend time outside whether its hiking, boating, or relaxing in a hammock.
More fun facts about me!
Favorite drink: I love a glass of white wine or a latte. But there are many other beverages that I indulge in.
Favorite music: Country and some folk-y mountain music. Zach Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, & Cody Johnson are some of my favorites.
Favorite show: Schitt's Creek or Peaky Blinders (honorable mentions to Breaking Bad, Impractical Jokers, and Yellowstone)
Favorite place I've visited: Mykonos, Greece! Such a cool environment and absolutely breathtaking. I also love visiting the Tetons, Big Sky, Montana, and Oregon.
Favorite food: You can't go wrong with seafood- especially coconut shrimp- or chipotle bowl with steak and guac. I also love when my dad smokes ribs or brisket on the Traeger.
Favorite part of a wedding day: Sunset photos with the couple or speeches. I love listening to everyone's stories and special words to the bride and groom. The first dance, father-daughter dance, and mother-son dance always tug on my heart strings, too.
My Style & Mission
Passion. That is what I love to photograph. The spark that you can see between two people makes my heart sing, & it is my favorite kind of passion to photograph. It gives me goosebumps witnessing the amount of love that I see on each and every wedding day. I strive to capture the love, joy, and excitement I feel within the room and what I witness between individuals.
My style is more documentary than editorial, meaning my goal is to get cinematic & candid shots that tell a story. This "posing" approach makes the experience very fun & organic with instructions that are less about how to pose and more about prompting you to do something together. These prompts are meant to encourage movement, emotions, laughter and intimacy during your session. I believe the experience of doing a photo session is just as important as the outcome of the photos, so it should be fun and easy!
Overall, I prioritize authenticity and being open with my clients. I am more than their photographer, I am their hype woman on the day of the wedding, their confidence boost during a portrait session, and their friend to make sure they are comfortable through the whole process.
I don't think you'll find anyone more passionate about their job than I am. I think that's because I love making people feel good about themselves and gifting them with art that they can cherish forever.
