Hi! I'm Maddie!
Born and raised in Minnesota, I grew up with the best example of love- my parents. They showed me the importance of a loving relationship where you take care of each other, listen one another, but most importantly, have fun together.
I love a good party. I can be loud, outgoing, energized, and say some bizarre things to get you and your people laughing. I am a very type A person, so I am super organized and mom-like most of the time. While I love to party and have the best times with my clients and my people, I also am a super sentimental and emotional person. I will mostly likely cry on your wedding day, but I will definitely go above and beyond to capture all those sentimental moments. I want to make sure you can look back on your day and cherish it in the form of these photos.
Incase you didn't know: Madelyn B Photography is named after my full name- Madelyn Bauerly.
This passion of mine started in high school with doing some senior photos. I still love to photograph a handful of high schoolers every summer before their senior year, but capturing the story of couples' love is what gets me the most excited.
Other than photography, I study architecture at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities and will graduate spring of 2023. I also love to go to country concerts (Country Jam Eau Claire, WI is a must every year), travel all over, and go shopping. Below are some more fun facts about me :)
Favorite drink: I love a glass of white wine, a Crown apple with 7up, or Iced turtle mocha from Caribou :)
Favorite music: Country, rap, pop, and some folk-y mountain music. Zach Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, & Cody Johnson are some of my favorites.
Favorite show: Schitt's Creek or Peaky Blinders (honorable mentions to Breaking Bad, Impractical Jokers, and Yellowstone)
Favorite place I've visited: Mykonos, Greece! Such a cool environment and absolutely breathtaking. I also love visiting the Tetons, Big Sky, Montana, and Oregon.
Favorite food: You can't go wrong with seafood- especially coconut shrimp- or chipotle bowl with steak and guac. I also love when my dad smokes ribs or brisket on the Traeger.
Favorite thing about a wedding day: Sunset photos with the couple or speeches. I love listening to everyone's stories and special words to the bride and groom. The father-daughter dance always makes me tear up too.
Passion. That is what I love to photograph. The spark that you can see between partners is my favorite kind of passion. It gives me goosebumps witnessing the amount of love that I see on each and every wedding day. I strive to capture what I feel in the room and how much the couples loves one another.
My style is very fun and organic, which comes from my poses which are actually more like active prompts for you to do. Movement, activities, emotion, and intimacy are some of my main go to's when thinking about posing. I want to show the camera your relationship through intimate photographs, natural laughter, and fun in-between moments. On the editing side of things, I love crisp photos and lots of depth, so I produce images with contrast, warmth, sharpness, and little to no glare. I do like to create an "artsy" image for every gallery with a little bit of motion blur, black and white with grain, or something else that might be unique to your story, just to add some spice. As an artist, I am always pushing the boundaries, critiquing myself, and improving how I serve my clients. I actually have grown to love feedback on my work (thanks design school) and love to hear even the constructive criticism when its appropriate. I critique my own work often and am very picky about the images I deliver. Overall, I prioritize authenticity and being open with my clients. I am more than their photographer, I am their hype woman on the day of the wedding, their confidence boost before the school year, and their friend to make sure they are comfortable through the whole process. I believe the experience of doing a photo session is just as important as the outcome of the photos, so it should be fun and easy!
I don't think you'll find anyone more passionate about their job than I am. I think that's because I love making people feel good about themselves and gifting them with art that they can cherish forever.
